One of the abandoned tunnels located about a mile west of Mineral along the former B&O railroad line, now the route of the Moonville Rail Trail. The trail gets its name from the Moonville tunnel which is similar to this a few miles further west up the trail through the Zaleski state forest.
Except you can't get to Moonville from here because of several gaps along the trail where former railroad bridges were removed. Efforts are underway to replace the bridges and futurists see a day when the Moonville Trail will connect to the Hockhocking-Adena bikeway in Athens.
